Enter as a team, of up to three teachers, or individually and your project could be eligible to win a cash prize of $1,000 for each teacher. Each winner will also receive a Tiffany's Crystal Star.
Eligible educators (K-12) who work at state accredited public or private U.S. schools located within the Bright House Networks service area can participate. All projects must have taken place during the 2010-2011 academic years.
All projects must involve content from the recently launched and newly enhanced web portal, www.ciconline.org. Your project must focus on:
Develop: “digital citizenship” — a positive and proactive approach to helping kids use digital tools safely and effectively and to assist in the teaching of digital literacy, ethical behavior online, and civic engagement.
Clearly strengthen making educational programming and online content useful and enriching to education.
Promote cable’s broadband access and applications as the new platform for effective teaching and learning.
Completed entries must be receiving using our online application no later than 11:59:59 p.m. on Friday, May 13, 2011. All materials submitted will NOT be returned. Please make a copy of your entry before submitting.
Entries must be submitted online. If you wish to include support materials with your entry, it must be submitted in an 8 ½ x 11" binder. Lessons plans, student examples, and other printed materials that support your entry can be included. Audio visual entries must be on DVD, not more than four minutes in length. Please label all materials completely with a project title, teacher name(s), school name, address and phone number. All support materials must be shipped pre-paid, and mail to:
