Bright House Networks recently announced the implementation of its 2012 Bright Futures Campaign. The Bright Futures Campaign is a two part educational initiative that recognizes Educators and Students that teach and attend schools in Bright House Networks service areas. The Laptop Scholarship Program recognizes high school seniors matriculating to college with a new laptop, related software, and carrying case for their leadership skills, academic achievements and community service activities. The Classroom Grant Program is available to area educators in K-12 programs who demonstrate creative learning experiences utilizing advanced technology, web based instruction, and/or cable programming to enhance the quality of education in our communities.
“The Bright Futures Laptop Scholarship program is designed to recognize young people in the Birmingham service area for their contributions to their schools and communities,” said Karen Broach, Regional Vice President of Operations – Bright House Networks. “Our decision to present this opportunity again to local high school seniors allows us to continue our commitment to the communities where our customers and employees live and work.”

Bright House Networks is proud to announce the continuation of the Bight Futures Classroom Grant Program, which is designed to be an ongoing program to assist educators with new and innovative projects. Teachers must demonstrate their creative use of cable programming, web sites, streaming video and broadband tools in developing creative learning opportunities for students. Teachers are asked to submit an application including a Project Summary and Evaluation Form including support material for the project. There is no deadline associated with the Educator Grant Program as Educators will be recognized and grants will be awarded year-round.
